Can someone become a leader without being good in communication skills? Or can someone become a leader only because he/she has good communication skills?

If you have to choose one from the above what will be your answer?I think i will go for the 2nd option even though i know that there are many examples for the 1st option also.

Is fear in any way helpful? I have heard many successful people saying that they all fear about one or another thing but ultimately they overcome those fear to become successful.

Yesterday I watched an old interview of an Army officer in the midst of a war and reporter asked him if he fears for his life? He casually answered that yes as a human he does fear initially thinking about it but overcomes it in few seconds. Then he said this what he has been trained for so many years and if he can’t over come his fear quickly then all his years of training and hardship would go waste.

Therefore we can say that everyone feels fear, its just how quickly you overcome it becomes the deciding factor in winning or loosing.

Fear for me is like a distant friend who comes to visit my house quite often from a far off place. If it stays for sometime then we talk and share a lot with each other about things around us. But if it starts living with me at my place then the problem starts. At that time i usually ask my friend on his face to go off to the place from where he has come and for that, sometimes i have to become a bit rude also.

I can’t avoid seeing him once in a while as he is a good friend who sometimes gives me a lot of good advices but i always try to make sure he doesn’t stay at my place for long and always say goodbye to him before its late for me.

Working in a big MNC i have alwasys wondered if “Politics” is part of our work culture or not. I am not talking about what the Company guidelines or rule book says but what happens on the ground.

Can we do our work without being affected of politics happening around us. The answer seems to be no. Then next question will arise- then what should we do? We have three options:

Be part of the system and play the politics game. This might hurt your actual work but who cares if you are winning in your political tactics.

Fight admantaly against the people who do this. The chances are that you will soon become most hated person and no body will be happy with you.

Don’t do anything and accept whatever is happening around you keeping a low profile.

Which one will you choose?

Because the people working in these companies have become inefficient and working more towards their own benefits rather than as a team.

Politics and team work doesn’t go hand in hand. Ideally to avoid inefficiency these large MNC should have small teams and the leader of the team should make sure that no team member is playing politics.

Difficult to achieve but not impossible.

Priorities…we all talk about it many times in our personal and professional lives. But how many of us actually have clear and defined priorities in our lives ? We always complain that we don’t get time for things and it is difficult to live up to the expectations of the jobs in hand.

One solution for this is to have a list of priorities even though flexible but do keep them. First go and type or write down the list of priorities in your life , and keep writing the list everyday when you get up in the morning and review it at the end of the day.

This list of changing priorities will give you a good idea about where your life is going to.

Try to visualize the scene in your mind of time when you will achieve what you looking for.

Talk to your friends who would believe in you and your dreams.

Make small milestones and try to adhere them.Once you reach them, give yourself some kind of treat.
